Gradient Between Two Points

Gradient = rise (change in y) ÷ run (change in x)
\(m = \dfrac{y_2 - y_1}{x_2 - x_1}\)
Example
Find the gradient of the line joining (1, 2) and (5, 10):
→ \(m = \dfrac{10 - 2}{5 - 1} = \dfrac{8}{4} = 2\)
Practice
Find the gradient between (3, 1) and (6, 7).
